Congrats on making it to final 2 guys!
Natalie, even though we found ourselves in opposite sides in both seasons we both played rather well. Gameplay is a large part of this game, so here is my question for you.
What sets you apart from other all-stars this season other than the fact that you are in the final 2? Do you think you played strategic the entire time or just when it counted?
Ronnie, despite trying to befriend you when we approached Final 5, you always seemed paranoid with me. That probably wasn't a good idea at the time but I guess it paid off for you in the end. I spoke to other people, and I was still loyal so you had nothing to fear.
My question to you is... What players would you say were integral in keeping you each and every week and how far do you think you could have gone had there not been the season 2 alliance?

I feel that much of this game would have looked differently without the season 2 alliance I eventually acquired. Natalie was definitely a huge help to my success, along with a few others along the road. I was only paranoid of you because I felt threatened when you put me on block. You weren't really ever my TARGET, I just had to play a defensive game in order to continue on. I guess I became a little paranoid due to all of the times I had to be on that treacherous block. People like you allowed me to continue on in the game, and then by chance winning the proper HoH and vetos (along with using my mystery power at the right time) I managed to maintain my houseguest status. Thank you for a very well played game, my friend.

I think my Diary Room entries will show that I was playing the game from Day 1 - or in the case of with Jen and Sharon - before the game began - ie back in season 2. I don't think anyone would've believed when we found out that there's 18 players in all-stars (main house), that one person would've never been up post-veto. With no inactives, to avoid post-veto nominations (and only one nomination - thanks to Brian ) was a tough thing to do. I think David was the only other person who was aiming to try for that same strategy. I just took better notes and won the final HoH to accomplish that feat - although he did have a tough nomination against Kevin as well. But I never had a vote, never was eligible to be voted on. That makes me different! While I didn't make bold moves until the second half of the jury phase, I tried to do little things along the way to ensure that my allies were in a better place and my enemies were in a worse place. But I think my Diary Room entries will show that I had a keen awareness of what was going on in the game and that I knew what needed to happen but was always waiting for the right time to enact my plans. I'll let a week of diary room entries speak for itself. Re: Week 5 « Reply #4 on Apr 28, 2010, 11:54pm » Ronnie wins and nominated Jordan and Laura. I figure Matt's #3 and Jen is #4. They all put him up there. He's out for revenge and who can blame him. They're believing that a large alliance can protect them all. And now who can protect them. The key to the game is to not win and get people to target your enemies for you. Jen doing fine in this arena.
Now while Laura vs. Jordan isn't the best situation (I think Jordan vs. Matt would've), I think I can insert my hand into this. Get Matt scared that he's the replacement nom. Force them all to think it's a matter of Laura vs. Jordan. We can all vote out Jordan probably (even though her power is waning quickly) - but it forces Laura/Keesha to make a move. And Matt has to figure who he wants to stand behind for real. The key is to get Matt to act and talk around before veto is won.
While Ronnie is pretty much doomed from now until eternity, he can do good damage and feel some sense of accomplishment if he can bring chaos to the house. Can't blame him. The game should've been turning around at this point now. And Ronnie is now accelerating the thought of a counteralliance (it was only Lisa and Jen that voted Janelle out I think) to make Jordan feel weak. And the problem is that Jordan won't react and go crazy. She'll try to rally troops and try to bring them together. That's why she needs to go (Jen will easily go for this as will s2). This should leave Matt-Keesha-Laura-Kevin now on the outs.
Of course I'm still on bottom of totem pole all around. That's the point. Be on bottom of your own totem pole and still remain as the weakest threat around. Let them all take each other out and make a move later in the game. I don't think I'm (at least I hope) much high on anyone's enemy list any more. And in an all-stars game - the name of the game is not to play too hard too fast. It's to be last one standing. That's why floaters (ie: me, jen, nick, kevin and in the past lisa, sharon) will be much more dangerous later.
Re: Week 5 « Reply #5 on Apr 29, 2010, 12:02am » Name of the game: take out the loyal soldiers to the leaders first - they're more dangerous. then take out the leaders later. try to take out a floater when you're stuck in a tough situation. then in the end, gather an alliance of strong players and weed out all remaining floaters. then in the end, join up with the last remaining floater - go to f3.
Make a connection with all - and stay active enough to not be booted - but don't try too hard.
So while I might not make it to the end, I know why I'm playing the way I am. I may not be the strategist, but I can work things out on how each person can get to the end, but I may not be able to work things out in the moment. Better in theory, poor in execution.
Well, I'm pretty busy from now on - so I'm guessing I'll fail this season, but just know that I deserve my place based on my observations.
Re: Week 5 « Reply #7 on May 1, 2010, 7:14pm » omg Jen reveals everything. And she's still playing same old way she's done before - keeping hands in every single pot of honey. Never learns. With these people, the game is best played by sending out your soldiers to do your dirty work. But it's also making me realize that Jen doesn't rely on me getting her through, and therefore - uh oh. Could there be an eventual backstab in the making? uh oh. tune in five weeks to find out!
